Here is the latest quilt--
I'll have one very similar to it finished in the next couple of days!
This is my favorite pattern to quilt. (It's done free-hand, not with a "pattern".)
It is a throw size, about 58" x 70" ish.

Go Jazz!

The Jazz game is on, and I just had to add these pictures that Gracie put on her bedroom door--

My Cowboys and Mint Brownies

This is a picture my Dad painted and gave to me for Christmas.

Of course I love it, it is one of my prized possessions. On Christmas morning in the middle of opening presents my Dad comes around the corner holding this picture. I had of course seen the the picture, and had told my Dad how great it would look with the color of my paint, but I hadn't seen it framed, and had no idea I would actually get it! Apparently I had a pretty good reaction, because my kids still talk about the little dance and scream I did when I saw it. I must have been having an out of body experience because I really don't remember much besides being shocked. Again, I love this picture!

Anyway, I finally made a quilt to keep--I've made quite a few quilts for other people, and quilts to sell, but I hadn't made one just to have around my house. And now I have one!
When I saw the piece of fabric that has the brown background with the green fleur de lis type design--I knew I had to have it. The rest just went on from there.

Now doesn't that just make you want Mint Brownies?

And doesn't it look great with my Cowboys?

The quilting on this one was a design I had drawn, but I hadn't quilted it yet. When I was debating how to quilt this one, Tony chose this design. I'm glad he did, it is one of my favorites now. This next photo shows the back. I used the super soft minkie (or minky, or minkee, or what ever!)

Tony thinks this is his quilt--but really, who is always cold around here?

HMQS - Last Thursday

A Big, Busy Day

I started out my day heading up to the Home Machine Quilting Show with my Mom. We spent most of the day there, but we had to head back home to be home before the kids got out of school. (I beat them home by about 3 minutes!) I took some fun photos, but we just plain ran out of time.

This photo is of an amazing quilt depicting DaVinci’s “Last Supper”. It was created by a very sweet man, artist Donald E. Locke. The quilt is made up of 51,816 half-inch squares. It took two and a half years just to piece the quilt. “The Supper” is about 15 feet wide and 5 ½ feet tall. Very cool to get to see. Talk about patience.

This one is called--I Ain’t no Spring Chicken! Yes this is really a quilt too. It was pieced and quilted by David Taylor.

This one was probably my personal favorite-This one is Snowmen on Parade.

Then it was off to Kyle’s baseball practice. After practice, I shoved my family out of the car, onto the driveway, and took off to Enrichment night. I have to admit, going home and having dinner with my family sounded a lot easier, but I decided I really should go.
I am so glad I went! It was a great night with The Diamond Dance Company. Their theme is Turning our coals into Diamonds…Believe in who you are. It was a great night of Music, Dance and Testimony. I was so impressed with the time these women give to share a message they believe in. I only wish I had had Gracie there with me. She would have loved to see them dance.
Pretty good full day!

Baby Stacked Posie

This one is a Baby sized Stacked Posie, like the one below.

Stacked Posie

This is a large size Twin. (It is laying on a Full size bed in the photo.)

Isn't it just "Ahhh, Tender"! The flowers are done with multiple layers of raw edge applique.

Pieced Border

This shows some of the back of the quilt.

The quilting on this one was so different from anything else I had done, I was worried about how the back would turn out. I ended up loving it, the back turned out great!

Gracie's Cuddle Quilt

I made this quilt for Gracie a couple of months ago--to be a cuddle quilt. She always falls in love with every quilt I make, especially the soft ones.

I made this one with the super soft minkie back. I machine quilted it with a flower and leaf design that just fits with the mood of the quilt perfectly. Gracie loves it! She actually has been sleeping on top of her regular bedding (her regular bedding is of course the quilt I made for her for Christmas) at night so she can just use this quilt. So glad I made it for her!
