dqs7 received

I received a package in the mail today....it was my quilt from my dqs7 partner, Gale!

Aren't these fabrics beautiful? And look at all that quilting.

I had to include a photo of this great pieced binding. I think it may be my favorite part!

I must admit I wasn't sure what this cutie was for a minute---duh---it's a measuring tape! How clever.

This has been so fun to participate in. Thanks so much Gale for the doll quilt and all the extra goodies. I really appreciate the beautiful work you did for me!

And maybe you are wondering about the quilt I made for the swap?
I haven't mailed mine yet. I finished it the end of July or the first of August. So why haven't I sent mine? Well I'll tell you. I found out I was supposed to put a label on the back. I've never labeled one of my quilts before. Uh-oh. I'm making myself sit down and figure that out TODAY! I'll let you know how it goes. Ugg.

In the Leafy Treetops

Here it is, the latest finish, all quilted and bound.

I've washed it so it has that great crinkly quilt look to it.
The strip blocks are actually made from the left-over fabric from another (twin sized) project I am working on.

This is one where I love the back almost as much as the front. Definitely one to be reversible. And this cute print that is in the strip in the back is where the name "In the Leafy Treetops" comes form. Do you know that song? I couldn't help but have that running through my head.

Some New Jewelry

Last week my niece Megan came to play for a few days. One of the days I made new necklace "drops" for both of us. They all can be added to any chain, and mixed and matched. I made a lot of sets, but I did take photo's of a few of them.

I'm thinking maybe I'll add some to my Shop in the near future.

Where has Summer Gone?

My kids started school today...

...and I can't stand it! Where did my summer go? I swear we just got in the summer groove, and it's gone!

Kyle is in 6th grade and Gracie is in 4th grade.

We've been busy and we've been having a good time.
We've been able to do a little camping the last couple of weekends. Lot's of playing cards, kids riding their bikes, reading, and just hanging out.

Tin Foil dinners is one of my favorite parts of camping.
I've also done a little sewing--here is the latest quilt top. Isn't she sweet?
I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer!

Progress

I finally got my Wonky Pinwheel (Tutorial here) quilt top put together and borders added. It is now in the "needs quilted" pile.

I'm also working on this Christmas Quilt top. It is mostly from the Figgy Pudding line, with a few extras thrown in for fun. I'm lovin' it. I love the red and aqua together!

I've also finished my quilt for DQS7. Here is a little peek. I hope my swap partner loves it!
