Groovy Guitar Skirt

Groovy Guitar Skirt for Gracie

Isn't she so cute!

I also made a matching skirt for my niece Kennedy, but no picture yet....

Happy Birthday...to Me!

Friday night we went out to celebrate my birthday....
We went out to dinner...
...then to Comedy Sports for some laughs (where I got to be a judge)....
...then we went on a hunt for cheesecake....and some 'bread pudding'....and even more laughs.

Thanks for the fun Tony, Jared, Jen, Marte & Marcie!

Saturday I got to have even more fun with my family. We met up with my Mom & Dad & Anna for lunch. And just spent the day playing. It was a great birthday. I am so lucky to have such a great family.

Project Improv

Improvised Log Cabin Blocks
Jacquie at Tallgrass Prairie Studio started a group called Project Improv.
The main purpose of the group is to help each other to quilt improvisationally. She also has asked that each quilter who joins the project, commit to making one 12.5 inch improvised log cabinish block to donate to a charity quilt. Honestly that is the main reason I decided to join. Once I started it was kinda hard to stop, so I made three. Here they are:

I can't wait to see how all of the charity quilts turn out. Should be a lot of fun. Thanks to Jacquie for getting us all organized together, and making this group happen!

Vegas

We made a quick trip to Vegas the end of last week.
My niece Marissa got married! Congratulations to Marissa and Bryson. Marissa looked absolutely beautiful.

(I totally stole this picture from M& M's blog. I didn't do a good job of taking pictures!

This is Jordan and Gracie hanging out.

Here is my sweet Mom and Dad.

We convoyed down with Anna, Megan, Mom & Dad. We got in Thursday just in time to go to bed. On Friday we went walking all over tarnation--to see some Vegas sites.

The wedding was Friday evening, and afterwards we went to dinner with a bunch of the family. After that we went for another walk to the Bellagio so the kids could see the fountains at night. We barely made it there before midnight for the last fountain show.

Saturday we stopped in St. George at Martin & MaryNell's for some lunch and little more visiting time. Then we hit the road back home.

It was a quick trip, but we had a lot of fun and were so glad we got to be there for the wedding.
I am so grateful for family and great friends.

This is the quilt we gave Marissa and Bryson.
