Goal Accomplished!

I am so happy! The Project 320 goal has been met--twice!

I am so thrilled, that means two wells will be built, and two villages will have their lives changed!
I am so grateful for the women of God who pulled this all together, and I'm grateful to have been a part in a small way.
I hope whoever won the bundle with my quilt in it, enjoys!

I think I'm in love...

...with this quilt.
Sugared Plums.
Rich. Jewel Tones. Posh. Yummy.

This quilt uses the scraps from MY quilt, and scraps from a quilt I am still working on, and of course others too.
I don't even know what a lot of them are, but here is some of what I used:
ZU ZU's Petal by Benartex
Basic Grey, Eve
Amy Butler - Lotus
Henry Glass
and I don't know what else!

Right now I am so in love with the Basic Grey "Grunge" fabrics. I love that they aren't totally solid, and they have some great colors. I quilted with an all-over loops design in a slightly variegated King Tut thread. Love it.
I love the back of this one too. The main color on the back is like a warm raspberry.
Do you need one?I've listed this in the Shop.

Gracie Singing

Gracie got to sing at the Mall last Friday. She even got to be next to her best friend.
She did a great job!

Project 320

Have you heard about Project 320?
You should really go read about now.

I'm sending this quilt.
Today I feel inspired.
I am so blessed. I have never had the worries that 4500 moms are having today...whether their children will live or die, because of contaminated water.

Mess

I did join Jacquie in her Joy in the New Year Challenge. I have got a couple projects actually finished, but oops...I just keep starting more!
With Christmas just around the corner I can't show you much of what I'm working on, but I couldn't resist this little photo.

Thanksgiving

I have so much to be thankful for!
Today I am especially thankful for my husband, my beautiful kids, my faith, and my family.
And for the fabulous nap we had this afternoon...
...and for my sewing machine, and fabric. ;)
Hope you all had a beautiful day!

My Very Own Quilt!

I've finally done it! I made a quilt just for me!

In the last two years, I've made somewhere around 46 quilts. This is the first one I've made just for myself.
I love how it turned out. I think the colors are very rich, and still very fun.
I've used a mix of a lot of my favorite fabrics. It just makes me happy.
I of course put the super soft minky on the back. (A must have for a snuggle quilt.) I especially love how the quilting looks on the minky. I used a slightly variegated purple thread for the quilting.
I even added a label! I wish I had done this on all my quilts.
Can you tell I'm a little hooked on this bricks pattern? It really shows off some of the larger bold fabric prints, and it comes together so fast.
I'm already lovin' cuddling up on the couch with it!

New Beginnings

This blog is mostly my creative journal. While I include everyday life, I don't really focus on the personal. But, the last few months have been hard for my family, and the last week even more so.
But now we are on to a new beginning. With that, I have realized once again
how important it is for me to create. I love to be able to take something and turn it into something else, in my own way. For me this is a need.

Wonky Pinwheel Quilt finished

The Wonky Pinwheel - Whiriligigs Quilt is finally finished!

I love how it turned out. The colors in the Sanae line are great, and I really like it paired with the brown. I used the super soft minkee for the back.
It is so soft and super snuggly. And it really wants me to curl up on the couch with it.
This is a very generous size cuddle quilt. It is going to my sister, who is going through a really tough time, and deserves all the happiness in the world.
I even put a label on the back. I'm so proud of me.
If you want to make one, the tutorial is here.

Fire and WIPs

I love to have dinner around a fire...
...even if it is just hot dogs.
At least we wrapped it up with s'mores.

I've made some good progress on my Halloween quilt. This is not at all what I started out to make, but I really like how it's ending up. I've got to get some fabric for the back, and figure out how to quilt it.

Here a a few WIPs.
I did actually get in a finish also, but just no pictures yet. Soon!

Pay it Forward

It works like this: the first three people to comment on this post and say they want to play along will get something handmade by me. I then have 365 days to make good. (I promise not to take that long.)

Anyone with a blog can join, it doesn't need to be something quilty, just something handmade for the next person.

To receive something from me, you need to play along too. You will need to post about it with the logo just as I have as soon as you sign up!
Please leave a comment if you would like to receive a little something from me! (Be sure to have an email address for me to contact you.)

WIP

Aren't these little monsters so cute?
I'm thinking I might just get these done in time for next Halloween...

...but I did finally get this on the machine to be quilted.

"First Snow" Quilt

It's finished!

Here it is in all it's quilted and washed crinkly goodness. I'm lovin' it. I'm so happy with how it all came together.
I was having some major tension issues, so the quilting on the back isn't great, but oh well. I still love it. When I showed it to my Mom she said it looked fresh like the first snow, so that's where the name came from.
Today it makes me happy.

I had to order more of the snowflake fabric--well the top is finished and going on the quilt machine today!
I'm really lovin' this "Figgy Pudding" line.

Bloggers Quilt Festival 2009

Welcome to my entry of Bloggers Quilt Festival 2009.
Thanks to Park City Girl for getting us all organized again!

This quilt was a lot of firsts for me.

This definitely wasn't my first quilt, but it is from the beginning of my quilting obsession.
I actually followed a pattern! You just don't know how hard that is for me. I don't do it often.
This is one of the largest quilts I had ever done.
I had never used triangles like these before. I changed my mind on the fabric and layout sooo many times, it's ridiculous. But once it finally all came together, I think it turn
ed out great.

I made this quilt for Gracie for Christmas in 2007. That was right before I got my longarm quilting machine. I got this back from having it quilted on the 23rd of December. I was very worried I wouldn't have it in time for Christmas. I wasn't able to get binding on it until after Christmas. Gracie didn't seem to mind.
Thanks for stopping by!
