Kyle's Map Quilt...and a Skirt for Me-

Kyle has been wanting a quilt of his own. He loves maps, so when I found this fabric with maps on it, I knew it would be perfect for Kyle.

He even helped with a little of the sewing.
I did a disappearing nine patch design.

I think he loves it. He of course chose minkee for the back. It is so soft and yummy. I quilted it in a meander design.

Last night I also made myself this skirt.

MaKelle don't look...

There are always multiple projects going on at once around here, but this poor quilt has been waiting for binding for about 2 months now--it is finally finished!

MaKelle will be getting this for her birthday from her parents. She has seen the quilt top finished, but not the completed quilt.

It has the softest ever minkee back. I am such a fan of minkee.

I hope she loves it!

'Pet Deer' Twirl Skirt

Isn't this fabric too dang cute?
Marcie made me this cute vinyl to go above Gracie's closet...
...and I made her daughter Malena this cute skirt.
Don't you just love it?

First Day of Spring

Last Friday the kids didn't have school, so we got to spend the day hangin' out and playing at home. The kids played a bunch of games and we made a cake for Grandma Marilyn's birthday. Gracie did end up deciding to sew with me.
Gracie got some great fabric for Christmas and is working on a quilt top.

Kyle wasn't sure what to do with himself, so I put him to work on the quilt top I am making for him.

My Mom turned 73 today. (We decided 73 candle might be a fire hazard.)

We gave her a pick axe for her birthday. Seems like a strange gift for a 73 year old woman, but that is what she asked for! (Kyle and M&D have been working on taking out some rotted poplar stumps.)
My Grandpa Earl always told my Mom that when she was born she brought spring with her. I'd say he was right.

Later that night Me, Tony & the kids went to play with J&J and M&M. We ended the night with an exciting game of spoons. Bloody Spoons. Too much fun. Check out a little of that story here.

Happy Spring!

Saturday Fun

Saturday we went out to breakfast with my Dad, then we came home and did some quick clean up in the yard, then we spent the afternoon with friends out shooting. It was a great day and so nice to be able to spend some time outside for a change!

This is a quilt I made last year, that my nephew will be raffling off to earn money to use for his Eagle Project.
