In the last two years, I've made somewhere around 46 quilts. This is the first one I've made just for myself. I love how it turned out. I think the colors are very rich, and still very fun. I've used a mix of a lot of my favorite fabrics. It just makes me happy. I of course put the super soft minky on the back. (A must have for a snuggle quilt.) I especially love how the quilting looks on the minky. I used a slightly variegated purple thread for the quilting. I even added a label! I wish I had done this on all my quilts. Can you tell I'm a little hooked on this bricks pattern? It really shows off some of the larger bold fabric prints, and it comes together so fast. I'm already lovin' cuddling up on the couch with it!
This blog is mostly my creative journal. While I include everyday life, I don't really focus on the personal. But, the last few months have been hard for my family, and the last week even more so. But now we are on to a new beginning. With that, I have realized once again how important it is for me to create. I love to be able to take something and turn it into something else, in my own way. For me this is a need.
Wife to Tony, Mom to Kyle and Gracie--could it get any better?
